The author Coxe in ‘Haunted Britain’ mentions that there is a haunted well in St. Osyth but provides no further details. Further research reveals that the ghost of St. Osyth, the Mercian princess that gives her name to the well, haunts it. You can see the well pictured above.

St. Osyth is a village in northeast Essex, England.

It is about 5 miles west of Clacton-on-Sea, and about 12 miles southeast of Colchester.
